2. Open Work Permit
An open work permit allows you to work for any employer in the country, without the need for a confirmed job offer. Unlike employer-specific work permits, where you're restricted to working for a particular employer, an open work permit offers more flexibility, enabling you to change jobs and employers freely.

2.1 You can apply for an open work permit if you:
- Graduated from a designated learning institution as an international student, qualifying for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program.
- Are a student unable to afford your studies (destitute student).
- Hold an employer-specific work permit and face abuse or risk of abuse in your Canadian job.
- Are a dependent family member of someone applying for permanent residence.
- Are the spouse, common-law partner, or dependent child of a low- or high-skilled worker.
- Are the spouse or partner of an international student.
- Are the spouse or partner of an applicant under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program or the Atlantic Immigration Program.
- Have an unenforceable removal order against you.
- Are a refugee, refugee claimant, protected person, or their family member.
- Hold a temporary resident permit.
- Are being sponsored as a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, or accompanying dependent child in Canada.
